Consultants revel in technical detail and find excitement in implementing new ideas. Your subject-matter experts (SMEs) who are working with them probably feel likewise. Yet many end users are scared to death of any new system and some view consultants as the enemy. End users may even be so afraid of losing their jobs altogether that they are invested in the failure of the new system, not its successful rollout.

Good trainers, on the other hand, enjoy the challenge of teaching the same topics to different audiences. They understand different people learn in different ways: some by reading, others from diagrams and still others from interaction. And they all learn at different speeds.
