E-Learning or Computer-Based Training (CBT)
We use the terms e-learning and CBT interchangeably. Also known as self-paced training, asynchronous training, training simulations, or training recordings, e-learning consists of sequences of Oracle screen recordings that demonstrate the entry of data into the Oracle application. To assist the student in grasping the subject matter, the recordings may also include voice-over, animation such as mouse movements, annotations such as highlights, text boxes or bubbles. Some e-learning recordings require the student to enter data to ensure they understand the functions. This may be combined with student testing and grading.
Software tools to facilitate the generation of these simulations are available from a variety of companies. Some of the best known are Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Flash, and UPK (Oracle’s offering). OA Train has worked with all of them. We strongly recommend the e-learning software tools from ELEARNING INCORPORATED.
E-learning is commonly delivered over an intranet, the Internet, or via CDs.
The time required to produce e-learning courses is significantly longer than Instructor-Led Training (ILT) materials. As a result, they are generally produced to deliver training only to large and/or widely dispersed student populations.
OA Train has developed e-learning materials for its clients in recent months for the following Oracle applications:
Navigation, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, Self-Service Human Resources, Incentive Compensation, Time and Labor, Hyperion Financial Management, Purchasing, iProcurement, iExpense, Order Management, and Project Accounting.
